I'm telling you, the market is getting hot for AW11 MR2's. I watched this ridiculously clean supercharged !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! go for $18k. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! 22k mile 5 speed N/A went for $8,600.
Now there's a 42k mile supercharged car up for auction. It's an auto, which may hurt its value, but it is still a low mileage, stock example. There's only one bid so far at $2000, but I'm excited to see how close it gets to the $9000 Buy it Now.
Here's the listing on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Please please PLEASE can there be some cool 80s metal left at bargain prices by the time I'm buying another car in 3-5 years?

Import from Japan where people don't pay outrageous sums for these cars. Probably can get a car as clean as this for $4000 delivered.

And this everyone is why I imported a Skyline.
I tried buying a clean MR2 turbo. Everyone wanted 8-9k for one. Said fuck it and paid $7000 to my door for a car that turns far more heads.
A non-driven car doesn't warrant triple the price and never fetch it. This one MIGHT only because it's under $10k.
"I watched this ridiculously clean supercharged one go for $18k."
Wow. I could get a R32 GTR for that, or several Pulsar GTIRs, or a Pulsar GTIR, Familia GTR, and a Lancia Delta Integrale and have money left for a domestic Celica Alltrac. Or I can get like 5 JDM supercharged MR2s and sell 4 of them for $10k each and put a big down payment for a Cayman or something.
I could also get a regular MR2 supercharged, have money to restore it to showroom quality, and get a SC14 installed for $18k if I wanted. It would be a far better choice as well.

These are still at bargain prices. It's just the clean ones that aren't. Also, while people are asking for these figures, I don't know if anyone's actually getting them.

yea but you have to drive on the wrong side

yeah your skyline will definitely make you money in the long run. Don't forget people are lazy/scared of importing a car and would rather pay for the "convenience" of just swapping their plates on to.

the other two cars I mentioned did end as auctions with reserves met, so barring some sort of deadbeat buyer ordeal, I'd say these cars were sold for those prices
Edit: ok it looks like the white one didn't meet the reserve, but it hasn't been relisted yet, so theres still a chance a deal was made

Serves me right for not looking at the links... Sounds like I need to start hunting down some clean examples to fund my passion for stripping ratty ones.

sorry, I tried to Ninja edit before you replied. It looks like the white one didn't hit the reserve but I'm pretty sure the red one sold

More power as well. Japan spec 80s 4AGE and 4aGZE have a bit more power than US they also have less bumper and can be had with slick top in supercharged form more easily
